Every Church Plant A Church

The Fall of the Iron Curtain…

The Rise of God’s Church in Russia!

When the Iron Curtain fell in 1989, the Church in Russia was small, underground and uncertain of its future.  But the response of the American Church helped it grow – the prayers, financial backing, education, outreaches and relief efforts planted seeds of hope in a nation of people grappling to understand all that was changing around them.

By 1991, there were 65 churches in the Pentecostal Union.  From this tiny start, the Church has grown and the Pentecostal Union has over 1,600 churches joining the ranks of Pentecostal churches from across the world.

Currently, there are approximately 104,000 villages without churches.  The vision of Head Bishop Edward Grabovenko and Pentecostal Union Leaders is to double the number of existing churches equaling 3,200!  Of course planting self-supporting churches will take much work and training.

Four Hundred new church plants each year for four years is a real possibility and an incredible growth for the Russian Church!

Area Director Rick Lang believes, “Cutting the Frontier, Sharing the Gospel and Planting Churches in Russia will require a great investment of time and resources, but it will yield a return beyond measure.”
